Originally the popular Leeuwkop Golf Course, the site closed at the onset of the pandemic.
In 2020, we partnered with the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) to repurpose the existing infrastructure into a bike park.
DCS agreed to the partnership as part of their efforts to integrate with the surrounding community.
We hosted our first event, the Lamola MTB Challenge, in November 2020 and officially opened the park in December.
Asidlale began by cutting the first 30km trail and has since expanded to 4 trail options, maintained year-round by the volunteer group, the Asidlale Diggers, led by Murray and his team.
The Asidlale Diggers are the heartbeat of Asidlale Adventure Park. This dedicated group of volunteers — Shaun Slabber, Jonathan, Rolf, George, Steven Morrison, and Shaun Long — work tirelessly behind the scenes, keeping our trails well-maintained, supporting park rehabilitation, organising events, and contributing to many other initiatives. Their hard work and passion for the outdoors make every adventure at Asidlale possible. We're grateful for their commitment and proud to have such a remarkable team.
